Denver Chalk Art Festival 2023
The Denver Chalk Art Festival (DCAF) is once again seeking talented local performing artists to be highlighted on stage at the event. DCAF is free and open to the public on June 10 (10AM-10PM) and June 11 (10AM-8PM) and will take place in the Golden Triangle Creative District just south of Denver's historic Civic Center Park.
The Denver Chalk Art Festival is an award-winning chalk festival that transforms the expanse of asphalt in the Golden Triangle Creative Districtinto a bright and colorful street museum. Over the course of two days, over 150 professional, amateur, and student artists captivate audiencesas they take to the pavement armed with vivid pastel chalks, pending hours on their hands & knees recreating major masterpieces. Over 100,000 festival attendees enjoy food and entertainment as they watch beautiful chalk pieces come to life.
The festival rents a 24' by 16' covered mobile stage, a festival sound system, stage lighting and will have a professional sound technician onsite at all times to assist with your set. This year the festival will also provide a drum kit to facilitate transitions between bands. We will connect you with our sound company once you are selected to perform at the festival.
More Details
Performances should be between 45 minutes and 90 minutes. Time slots will be finalized as the overall stage schedule is built out. Transition time between acts is generally 30 minutes - please indicate in your application if you require more than 30 minutes (or if you can get by with less than 30 minutes!)
A merch table will be provided which can be used during your performance and for 30 minutes after your time slot.
Selection Criteria
Our goal is to have a variety of acts/musical genres that also reflects the diversity of our great city. Priority will be given based on this goal. All acts must be family-friendly for all ages. As a non-profit festival, we will also take cost into consideration and appreciate any and all discounts that are extended to DCAF.
Application Deadline
Please submit your application no later than Wednesday, March 15. We will move through the selection process swiftly to ensure ample time to promote you! DCAF will include performers on our website and social media, and we request that performers do the same in return.
By submitting this application, performer and affiliates agree to allowing the Denver Chalk Art Festival to photograph and publish photographs and information related to the performance as well as using the biography, photos and social media links for advertising.
